LAHORE: Police have registered a case against a man for running over two police officials in the Defence area, resulting in the death of one.
The suspect is the driver of the car owner.
The policemen, Mustansar and Qasim, were performing their duties at a picket when the speeding car ran them over, resulting in the instant death of the former and inflicting serious injuries on Qasim. The injured policeman is under treatment at a hospital.
A CCTV footage which has captured the incident shows the personnel attempting to run for their lives, as the car takes a sharp turn towards them while apparently trying to take over a car parked ahead of it at the picket.
